Jo Sanders Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Business Development
Jo Sanders helps small enterprises formulate programs for growth
ASHBURN, VA, August 12, 2011 /Management PR News/ -- Jo Sanders, President of JDJ Solutions, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business development. She was named a 2010 Professional of the Year in the Business Development Industry.
Ms. Sanders is a resourceful and enthusiastic self-starter with a broad-based background in business development, marketing, client management, program management, capture management and political liaison work.
She created J. Sanders and Associates, dba JDJ Solutions, LLC, in 1994, whereupon she assumed the responsibility of facilitating development for small businesses. She utilizes her extensive experience to identify business opportunities, create and manage business relationships and successfully forms complementary teaming arrangements to develop winning solutions and proposals. Some of her current clients include: CBX Technologies, Oakland, CA; Facet Technologies, Alexandria, VA; Woodard Associates, Washington, DC; and Bankers Couriers, Silver Spring, MD.
Throughout her 25+ year career, Ms. Sanders achieved multiple feats. Foremost of these is her development of the Small Business Outreach Program at Dimensions International, Inc. (DI) She participated for seven years with the senior management team at DI and assisted in the expansion of Dimensions International from 355 employees and revenues of $53 million to more than 1,500 employees and revenues exceeding $180 million. Ms. Sanders has also been successful in building direct partnerships for small, medium and large companies with senior business executives with backgrounds in military, government, political and nonprofit services.
From the time of her close affiliation with the Small Business Administration (SBA) during President Reagan's Administration, Ms. Sanders has always been involved in growing small companies. In the past, she lent her talents to Tremco, Inc. as Director of Small Business Outreach Programs and to NATEK, Inc., as Business Development Manager. She also served as Business Development Director of EER Systems, Inc., and as an independent consultant on business development, public relations, community relations and political partnerships.
Ms. Sanders is an active member of her profession. Organizations with which she maintains affiliation include Women In Technology (WIT), the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council, TechAmerica, the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA), the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center, and the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE). Ms. Sanders also served as the Vice President of Government Independent Agency Women.
In addition to her industry affiliations, Ms. Sanders currently sits on the Board of Directors of Brig Owens Super Leaders (a twenty-five year old leadership organization for at-risk youth), and has served on the board and committees of several community organizations such as The Arthur Ashe Foundation, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Washington, DC, Capital Area, TESST College of Technology, Langston in the 21st Century, and the Culture Kids Project. She also volunteered regularly for over ten years with the I Have a Dream Foundation as a tutor and mentor for at-risk children.
A 2010 Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Business Development, Ms. Sanders looks forward to using her varied experiences for the benefit of small businesses, with a particular focus on minority-owned, veteran-owned, service disable veteran-owned and female-owned enterprises.
