Louise Lorenc Recognized for Dedication to Emergency Medical Services

Louise Lorenc was honored with a Community Awareness Award in 2009

    WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE, ON, CANADA, July 15, 2011 /Management PR News/ -- Louise Lorenc, Superintendent of York Region EMS and Owner of EMED Consultants, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in emergency medical services and business continuity planning.

Ms. Lorenc believes that is was her Type A personality that led her to become an emergency services professional. Today, with 14 years of experience, she successfully maintains two management positions in her field. As the Superintendent of York Region EMS, she manages more than 300 paramedics and support staff who provide 24-hour response and emergency medical services. She coordinates with local hospitals, acts a liaison with the media, and reports to the Chief of EMS. In recognition for her work in this role, she was honored with a Community Awareness Award in 2009. She hopes to become the Deputy Chief of her region in the future.

In March 2010, Ms. Lorenc founded EMED Consultants, through which she shares her expertise in emergency management by developing custom emergency and business continuity plans for companies. She then designs exercises to help clients practice and solidify these plans. Ms. Lorenc attributes her overall success to her determination.

A graduate of The Justice Institute of British Columbia, Ms. Lorenc holds a bachelor's degree in emergency management. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers, College of Nurses of Ontario, and International Association of Emergency Managers. She was awarded Canadian Municipal Manager Level III from the Ontario Municipal Manger Institute, with enhancements as CMM III Emergency Medical Services Executive and CMM III Emergency Management Professional. Aside from work, Ms. Lorenc is a supporter of Parkinson Society Canada and Canadian Cancer Society.
