Pat Hale Exhibits Excellence in Engineering and Education
Pat Hale successfully mentors and motivates talented young engineers
CAMBRIDGE, MA, December 8, 2011 /Management PR News/ -- Pat Hale, Director of the System Design and Management Fellowship Program for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering and education.
Mr. Hale is a professional engineer with 36 years of experience and expertise in systems engineering. He also possesses a passion for education and a desire to mentor talented young engineers. As an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an industry stakeholder for a program to combine engineering and management education, he was familiar with the school's System Design and Management Fellowship Program and felt called to promote the program. He sent students from industry in the early days of the program, and has served as its director for the past seven years. His role entails teaching engineering courses at the system level and overseeing all aspects of the degree program. Mr. Hale plans to further develop the program in the years to come while motivating people to remain in the technical world and utilize their engineering skills.
In 1981, Mr. Hale earned a Master of Science in naval architecture and marine engineering and the degree of Ocean Engineer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He previously earned an MBA with a concentration in information systems from National University in 1981. Mr. Hale is a former president of the International Council on Systems Engineering (2008-2009) and a supporter of the South Shore Community Church in Bridgewater, Mass. When not working, he enjoys cooking, wine tasting, and traveling.
