Cambridge Who's Who Names Keith Henry James Scott Executive of the Year in Nonprofit Management
Keith Scott has also been named a VIP Member for 2011-2012
HAMILTON, ON, CANADA, December 29, 2011 /Management PR News/ -- Keith Henry James Scott, Chief Executive Officer of The Hamilton/Burlington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Nonprofit Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
The Hamilton/Burlington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is an animal shelter as well as a not-for-profit organization founded to protect animals. As its chief executive officer, Mr. Scott runs the SPCA affiliate and oversees its operations and staff. In addition, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership. Before joining the organization, he worked at the Calgary Zoo for almost 20 years as the director of business operations. He also served as vice president of strategic alliance and planning at Tourism Calgary and interim managing director for Travel Alberta International.
In 1973, Mr. Scott completed all pre-requisites of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Deciding that a career change was in order he did not complete the entry requirements for admission to the profession. He went on to obtain certification in leadership from the Banff School of Advanced Management (now the Banff Centre). Attributing his success to the support of his family and passion for his work, Mr. Scott having completed the launch of a pilot program to provide low-income pet owners an opportunity to have their animals spayed or neutered is now focusing on the redevelopment of the shelter to provide the animals with the environment most suitable to meet both their social and medical needs while in their care.
