Alexis Black Ferrigno Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who
Alexis Ferrigno is a Talent Scout for the World of Maternity Retail
PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 18, 2011 /Management PR News/ -- Alexis B. Ferrigno, Director of Stores for Destination Maternity, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in maternity retail.
As a self-described talent scout for the retail world, Mrs. Ferrigno has acquired 25 years of experience in her field. For the last six years, she has been a director of stores for Destination Maternity. She is responsible for managing the entire United States territory for the company's A Pea in the Pod stores and Destination Maternity Stores. She also runs sales force operations in the field, from the East to the West Coast, overseeing 1,100 people at 145 stores, with 15 direct reports. She feels that her expertise truly lies in talent discovery and she strives to develop leaders for the company, actively promoting those leaders to success.
Attributing her accomplishments to her business acumen and ability to discern and identify good talent, Mrs. Ferrigno also credits the fact that she works with fantastic people and has a talent for mentoring others. She is creative in business and counts tenacity as one of her driving forces. With a background in cosmetics, Ms. Ferrigno previously worked for retail giants like Clinique and Victoria's Secret.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in music, applied voice, opera and teaching from the University of Hartford in 1971. In the future, she hopes to work in a freestanding business and to move into the role of vice president, while obtaining opportunities in which new business areas can be developed.
