Collene Barnes received a bachelor's degree in child psychology from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS
WICHITA, KS, September 7, 2010 /Management PR News/ -- Collene Barnes, District Manager for Knowledge Universe, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in business administration.
For the past 2 years, Ms. Barnes has served as the District Manager for Knowledge Universe, parent company for KinderCare Learning Centers, New Beginnings, The Grove School, Champions and CCLA. In her position, she oversees operations of nine KinderCare center locations, approximately 300 employees and 625 children. Prior to her current position, Ms. Barnes worked as the Director of Child Development for Via Christi Health Systems in Wichita for eight years supervising over 70 employees and 400 children. She also spent 10 years employed by KinderCare Learning Centers, Inc. as a Center Director and three years as the owner of her own center, Castle Rock Academy Inc. in Wichita.
In 1982, Ms. Barnes received a Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology from Emporia State University. Additionally, she participated in an independent study with special needs children. She is a supporter of the Children's Miracle Network and the March of Dimes Foundation. Ms. Barnes attributes her success to her passion for her profession and the support she receives from her supervisor and mentors.
